As an FCC licensed radio, the 1500P is unaffected by neighboring wireless devices or inclement weather, delivering maximum reliability (~99.999%) for critical back haul and wireless WAN applications. Redundant options are also available, including space and frequency diversity.
The 1500P employs an advanced modulation design that's also available in a 2xOC3 configuration over a single carrier. Further upgrades to OC12 are facilitated by combining OC3 or OC6 radios into a single antenna. Radios sharing an antenna run at separate frequencies so that a failure in one has no effect on the others.
System set-up at each end consists of a compact Outdoor Unit (ODU), a rack-mounted Indoor Unit (IDU) and a parabolic antenna that ranges in diameter from 1.5' to 6.0', based on link distance. The ODU houses the radio transmitter and receiver and attaches below the dish. The ODU is powered by the IDU (120VAC, 5-A), which also supplies user and network interfaces. ODUs and IDUs are connected by a single RG-8 coax for signal and power. Maximum cable distance is 1,000’.
The FibeAir 1500P is FCC licensed for interference protection. The license period is 10-years and renewable thereafter. For your convenience, we offer guaranteed license approval with our turnkey installation services.
