What if I don't have line of sight?
Point to point wireless offers far greater throughput than point to multipoint systems and so if bandwidth is what you want, then you'll need line of sight between your buildings. That said, achieving line of sight may be easier than you think. Often it's a simple matter of getting another ten or fifteen feet off a roof top or trimming back a few trees. Otherwise, a repeater site is needed.
Common repeater sites are other roof tops, communication towers or water towers. Generally, it's a simple matter of finding a structure that's visible from both your buildings, and of course that's stable enough to support your dish. Roof tops are usually better than towers from a lease cost and servicing standpoint, and so don't automatically look for towers if there are other options.
Also, when considering repeater possibilities, think about which of them may be easier to secure or less costly based on an existing business relationship or other organizational affinity.
